The drive
Leaving Hanumangarh you cross the last of the canal-irrigated farmland. Past Rawatsar the land opens up into dunes and dry fields, and past Pallu you are well into the Thar. The highway skirts the edge of Sardarshahar. Ichhapuran Balaji Mandir and Jay Mahal Hotel & Resort sit on its southern side, towards Ratangarh.
SH-7 keeps going south. From Sardarshahar it is about 48 km to Ratangarh and about 73 km to Salasar, so many families combine this drive with darshan at both Balaji temples.

Tips for the road
- Rawatsar is the main town on the way. It is a good place for a tea break and fuel.
- Long straight stretches tempt high speeds. Watch for animals crossing and slow farm vehicles.
- In May and June, avoid the afternoon. The Churu region regularly passes 40 °C.
- At night, carry water and keep your phone charged. Some stretches are quiet.
